Rank 10
10. Hatari Security
Why this rank. Hatari opens the countdown with an integrated residential offer, giving a home or estate buyer a clear path from equipment and monitoring to physical response.
Buyer fit. Hatari’s published home offer connects CCTV, intrusion or fire alarms, access control and response. The buyer must turn advertised timing and equipment claims into an address-specific written scope.
Published service categories. Home and physical security, Alarm and response, CCTV and access control, K 9 and close protection
- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine when a home, estate or business wants physical security and an alarm-led electronic package together.
- Service breadth

- Supervision and reporting
- The public material describes physical protection and response. Ask Hatari to set the supervision cadence in the proposal.
- Technology and response structure
- Hatari describes alarm transmission, monitoring, notification to police or response teams and client notification. Put the advertised installation and arrival timings into an address-specific SLA.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Define clock start, coverage hours, exceptions, incident records, equipment ownership, installation and continuing service in the written SLA.
Hatari Security gives a home or estate buyer a combined equipment, monitoring and response conversation.
Hatari’s public history says it began in 1985 and incorporated in 1994. Its contact page lists Nairobi headquarters and branches in Mombasa, Kisumu, Thika, Nakuru, Eldoret and Nyeri. The service portfolio includes consulting, home and physical security, K 9, close protection, retail security and electronic products. Use the locations as a first filter, then ask which response and installation team serves the address.
Its home-security page links several layers: CCTV, intrusion and fire alarms, access control, alarm transmission, monitoring, notification to police or response teams and client notification. It advertises installation within three hours and response within seven minutes. Put a common clock definition, covered geography, exception list and responsible team into the SLA so those timings have a clear operating meaning.
The right procurement question is what happens between those layers. Who installs and owns the equipment? Which control room receives the signal? Who decides whether police or a response team is notified? How does the buyer receive an incident record? What happens when a device loses power or connectivity? The answer should be written for the actual address and service hours, with maintenance and replacement terms alongside the alarm subscription or guarding price.
A 2025 Court of Appeal record concerning KRA procurement identifies separate guarding, equipment and alarm-backup lots and records Hatari as the alarm-lot winner. That context helps a buyer keep service lines separate. The inspected KCAA entries carry cancellation marks, so aviation enquiries should request a current certificate from the responsible entity.
Hatari may suit a buyer who values a combined physical and electronic brief, particularly where a property needs a clear boundary between access control, monitoring and on-site response. The comparison is complete only when the proposal states the address, the response team, the equipment and maintenance duties, the records, the exclusions and the entity responsible for each promise.

Rank 9
9. Ultimate Security
Why this rank. Ultimate brings the alarm and sister-company guarding relationship into view, so a home or business buyer can resolve entity and continuity questions early.
Buyer fit. Ultimate’s pages describe a 24/7/365 control room, second-vehicle backup, automated check-ins, supervisor monitoring and daily reports. The alarm and guarding businesses have separate identities that must remain clear.
Published service categories. Alarm and response, Guard monitoring, Tracking, Fire and rescue or escort support
- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine for a Nairobi buyer comparing alarm response with guard monitoring and continuity features.
- Service breadth
- Alarm and response, Guard monitoring, Tracking, Fire and rescue or escort support
- Location or site fit
- Ultimate gives a Nairobi base. The exact current service area and branch capacity need confirmation.
- Supervision and reporting
- Ultimate describes automated guard check-ins, supervisor monitoring, client-specific training and daily reports.
- Technology and response structure
- Ultimate’s pages describe alarm and response, a 24/7/365 control room and second-vehicle backup. Put the backup and rescue conditions into the written scope.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Confirm the alarm company and Security Guards Services entities, site coverage, dispatch conditions, report access, maintenance and itemised pricing.
Ultimate Security is a reminder that a joined buyer journey can still involve separate suppliers.
Ultimate dates its alarm business to 1979 and gives Nairobi as its base. Its service pages describe alarm and response, guard monitoring, tracking, fire and rescue or escort support. The guarding operation is described through sister company Security Guards Services. Pages for that sister business give 1969 and 1970 dates, so each entity’s history remains separate rather than becoming an invented age.
The operating features are practical ones. Ultimate’s pages describe a security appraisal, a 24/7/365 control room, second-vehicle backup, automated guard check-ins, supervisor monitoring, client-specific training and daily reports. For a buyer, the questions are who receives the signal, when a second vehicle is used, who reviews a missed guard check-in, and how daily reports reach the client. Put those handoffs into the proposal beside the hours and address.
A single security brief should therefore draw a visible boundary around each responsibility. It should name the alarm equipment and owner, the guard employer or contractor, the control-room operator, the report recipient, the maintenance party and any third-party rescue or escort role. If one company coordinates the two entities, that coordination should be part of the priced terms rather than an assumption made from a shared website.
Ask Ultimate for the current guard price, alarm package, coverage radius and appraisal terms in writing. The site’s published well-paid description can inform a recruitment question, while the buyer’s proposal should set the current scope and the advertised handoffs.
Ultimate may suit a Nairobi home or business that wants alarm response and guard monitoring discussed together. Its value in this comparison is the coordination question. The proposal should make the two legal identities, the site, hours, response conditions, reports, equipment maintenance and itemised cost visible before appointment.

Rank 8
8. GardaWorld in Kenya
Why this rank. GardaWorld brings complex enterprise and regional scope into the countdown, with a rebrand and central operations model that make entity and local-team questions central to the brief.
Buyer fit. GardaWorld’s public rebrand announcement gives buyers a reason to examine its central operations and sector scope, while entity and local response terms require direct confirmation.
Published service categories. Integrated guarding, Risk services, Technology and remote monitoring, Specialist sector support
- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine for multi-site or specialist operations seeking central oversight and risk services.
- Service breadth
- Integrated guarding, Risk services, Technology and remote monitoring, Specialist sector support
- Location or site fit
- The company announcement names Nairobi, Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa and Nakuru as operating regions and says it has 8,000+ Kenya security professionals.
- Supervision and reporting
- The announcement describes a training facility and a mobile-response network feeding its Nairobi National Security Operations Centre.
- Technology and response structure
- GardaWorld describes AI-assisted remote monitoring, tracking and overwatch through a Nairobi National Security Operations Centre. Ask how that centre connects to the local response team for the site.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Confirm the post-rebrand legal entity, local response base, monitoring and data controls, certificates and the detailed Kenya service scope.
GardaWorld in Kenya belongs in the comparison because a brand transition changes the questions a buyer must ask.
GardaWorld’s 2 April 2025 announcement records the acquisition of KK Security in 2016 and a Kenya rebrand in April 2025. It says the operation has more than 8,000 Kenya security professionals and names Nairobi, Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa and Nakuru as operating regions. The announcement presents the business as an integrated provider for aviation and ports, logistics, extractives, agriculture, diplomatic and NGO operations. Use that sector scope to ask which Kenya team, response base and service records apply to each site.
The central technology story is specific enough to shape a procurement brief. GardaWorld describes an upgraded Nairobi National Security Operations Centre, AI-assisted remote monitoring, tracking and overwatch, a mobile-response network and a training facility. A buyer should ask how those pieces connect to a particular property: which signal is received, which team is dispatched, which records are retained, and who is responsible if an alarm, network or vehicle link fails.
The KCAA bulletin dated 10 April 2026 lists KK SECURITY LIMITED at a Nairobi address under certificate reference KE/ASSP/003-01/0625 without cancellation marks in the inspected rendering. Keep that aviation-specific record with the named entity and site, then ask separately about general PSRA scope. A central operations model may suit a multi-site buyer when the proposal names the local legal party, branch responsibility, response base, data controls and maintenance obligations.
A rebrand is therefore a contract checkpoint. Put the trading name, legal name, registration and certificate references beside each service line. Ask whether a Kenya entity, group entity or affiliate signs the work, and whether any specialist service is handed to another party. Then compare the resulting proposal against the same site brief used for the other nine providers.
Rank 7
7. SGA Security
Why this rank. SGA adds a control-room and response model with an explicitly described police relationship, useful to buyers who need those handoffs written into scope.
Buyer fit. SGA’s public pages describe verification, dispatch, tracking, alerts, video verification, K 9 and fire monitoring. The local entity, dispatch base and police protocol need written confirmation.
Published service categories. Guarding, Alarm response, Tracking and control room, Cash, technical systems and dogs
- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine when integrated monitoring and physical response, including a stated police relationship, matter to the buyer.
- Service breadth
- Guarding, Alarm response, Tracking and control room, Cash, technical systems and dogs
- Location or site fit
- SGA describes a regional operation across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The KCAA record names SGA Kenya Limited in Nairobi for a dated aviation-specific entry.
- Supervision and reporting
- The guarding page describes control-room integration and guarding. Ask SGA to set the supervision cadence and reporting path for the site.
- Technology and response structure
- SGA describes signal verification, dispatch, tracked vehicles, SMS, video verification, K 9 on call and fire monitoring, and says most Kenya response teams are accompanied by armed police.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Verify the contracting entity, local dispatch resources, the meaning of police accompaniment, maintenance intervals and the relevant certificate scope.
SGA Security is most useful to a buyer who wants to map the handoff from an alarm signal to a physical response team.
SGA describes origins in 1969 and about 20,000 personnel across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Older pages use a different 15,000 figure, so use the regional figure as context and ask for Kenya staffing and local dispatch resources. Its service catalogue covers guarding, alarm response, tracking, cash services, technical systems and dogs. The common thread is coordination through a control room, which is the part a buyer should test in a proposal.
The alarm-response page describes signal verification before dispatch, tracked vehicles, SMS notifications, video verification, K 9 on call and fire monitoring. It also describes premises assessment and maintenance for fire services. SGA says most Kenya response teams are accompanied by armed police, while its separate guarding page says Kenya armed guarding is contracted with police. State in the contract which response team, risk category, address and escalation step the arrangement covers, and who records the outcome.
A useful site brief asks what happens at each stage: which device raises the signal, who verifies it, what information the dispatcher sees, which vehicle is assigned, what escalation follows a failed contact, and which report reaches the client. If police accompaniment is material, state whether it applies to a response team, a guarding post, a particular risk category or a named service. Keep the roles and legal entities separate in the schedule.
The KCAA bulletin dated 10 April 2026 lists SGA KENYA LIMITED in Nairobi under KE/ASSP/010-01/0726 without cancellation marks. Keep that dated aviation-specific record with the exact entity. The SGA wage judgment names SGA Security Solutions Ltd and contains historical wage bases from work ending in December 2020. Keep that entity and period separate from a current group quote.
SGA may suit buyers who value integrated alarm and physical-response questions. The buyer still needs local dispatch evidence, maintenance intervals, the police relationship in contract language, record access, response exceptions and the entity responsible for each promise. Those answers are more useful than a broad count of regional personnel.
Rank 6
6. Wells Fargo Kenya
Why this rank. Wells Fargo adds a technical lifecycle and governance lens for a growing business that wants survey, installation, monitoring and maintenance connected.
Buyer fit. Wells Fargo describes branch control rooms, a national command centre and a survey-to-maintenance electronic lifecycle. Buyers should verify local staffing, active account scope and full roster pricing.
Published service categories. Static guarding and patrol, Electronic security lifecycle, Tracking and fire, Cash-in-transit and canine
- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine for dispersed businesses that want guarding beside electronic design, monitoring and maintenance.
- Service breadth
- Static guarding and patrol, Electronic security lifecycle, Tracking and fire, Cash-in-transit and canine
- Location or site fit
- Wells Fargo says it has 100+ branches and control rooms. Ask the local team to map response, installation and maintenance coverage for each address.
- Supervision and reporting
- The guard page describes vetting, deployment against job descriptions and SOPs, patrol records and vehicle tracking.
- Technology and response structure
- The electronic model runs from site survey and design through installation, monitoring and maintenance or updates, with branch control rooms and a national command centre.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Ask for local staffing and response capacity, system replacement and maintenance terms, report access, use-of-force implementation and a priced roster.
Wells Fargo Kenya brings a lifecycle question to the comparison: who keeps a layered system useful after handover?
Wells Fargo says it incorporated in 1977 and expanded beyond banking in 1982. It describes more than 100 branches and control rooms, and identifies Fargo Courier as a sister business. Use the footprint to ask about branch ownership and escalation, and keep the Kenyan security business distinct from the US bank.
Its guarding material describes vetting and deployment against job descriptions and standard operating procedures, patrol records and vehicle tracking. Its service range includes static guarding, mobile patrol, canine, cash-in-transit, fire, tracking and electronic security. The useful procurement task is to separate a static post, a mobile patrol, an electronic system and a transport service, because each has different hours, records, equipment and risk boundaries.
The electronic model is described as a lifecycle: site survey, custom design, installation, monitoring and maintenance or updates. The company describes branch control rooms and a national command centre and reports 3,050+ alarms installed countrywide. Use the installation count as a starting point for asking about active monitoring and local capacity. Before signing, ask what is included in commissioning, who owns the equipment, how faults are escalated, which updates are included, and how the buyer receives monitoring and maintenance records.
The September 2025 rules-for-use-of-force document is a published governance policy. Use it to ask about training, supervision and implementation at the proposed posts. A 2015 Kenya Law record uses KSh 31,354 for a supervisor or crew commander, providing historical role-specific context while the current roster and price belong in the proposal.
Wells Fargo can suit a business with several sites or a combined guard and electronic brief, provided the proposal makes local delivery visible. Name each site and service, the branch and command-centre roles, the maintenance and replacement boundary, report access, use-of-force governance and the priced roster. That makes the lifecycle comparable with providers whose public pages emphasise alarms or response instead.
Rank 5
5. BM Security
Why this rank. BM sits in the middle of the countdown because its public material joins digital reporting with specific field-management duties. That gives a growing business a practical supervision and relief brief to test.
Buyer fit. BM’s published offer suits a buyer who wants to test an integrated physical and electronic brief, then turn its stated supervision and relief duties into contract requirements.
Published service categories. Manned guarding, Alarm monitoring and response, CCTV and access control, Digital reporting
- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine when a business or estate wants guarding, alarms and documented field supervision together.
- Service breadth
- Manned guarding, Alarm monitoring and response, CCTV and access control, Digital reporting
- Location or site fit
- BM identifies Nairobi and branches in Mombasa, Nakuru, Nyeri, Eldoret, Meru and Kisumu. Site availability still needs confirmation.
- Supervision and reporting
- A May 2026 Field Officers advert specifies field supervision at least twice per shift and regular relievers for each post.
- Technology and response structure
- BM describes 24/7 alarm monitoring, response, installation and maintenance, plus Vigi Control GPS and photo reporting and OTP visitor management.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Ask for site supervision logs, the relief roster, maintenance frequency, reporting access and the exact entity on the contract.
BM Security is best examined here through the management layer around its service menu.
The company says it began in 1984 and lists Nairobi with branches in Mombasa, Nakuru, Nyeri, Eldoret, Meru and Kisumu. It also markets services to corporate, diplomatic, finance, property and retail clients. Use that footprint to ask about the current response radius, branch team and site-level reporting for the address in your brief.
Its guarding page describes selection, training, patrols, incident reporting and site tailoring. The alarm page describes 24/7 monitoring, response, installation and frequent maintenance. BM’s technology material adds CCTV, access control, Vigi Control GPS and photo reporting, and an OTP visitor system. For a buyer, the useful comparison is therefore operational: which duties remain with the guard team, which signals reach the control room, and which records can the client inspect?
The May 2026 Field Officers advert gives the clearest testable detail. It specifies field supervision at least twice per shift and regular relievers for each post, including rest-day and annual-leave replacement and communication of changes to clients. A July 2026 security-officer advert, updated 10 September, specifies three weeks of training. Use these role details to ask BM how the local roster, report access and relief handover will work at your site.
The reviewed KCAA bulletin carries cancellation marks in the substantive BM credential cells. For aviation work, ask for the exact site-specific certificate and its current entity name, and keep that specialist question separate from the wider BM service brief.
BM’s strongest buyer conversation is one that turns its published duties into evidence requests: a named supervisor, a relief roster, a maintenance calendar, an incident-escalation path and a digital-report retention rule. The same brief should specify the property, hours, entrances, patrol points, alarm devices and people authorised to receive reports. A proposal that leaves those boundaries open is not comparable with one that prices them explicitly.
Rank 4
4. G4S Kenya
Why this rank. G4S follows the management detail with a broad, tiered alarm and support offer. The package structure gives a growing business a clear way to request like-for-like scope.
Buyer fit. G4S gives a buyer more package structure to compare, while its national footprint and local service availability still need to be confirmed at each address.
Published service categories. Manned security, Alarm response packages, Security systems, Canine and cash logistics
- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine when a dispersed organisation wants a broad portfolio and tiered alarm-response bundles.
- Service breadth
- Manned security, Alarm response packages, Security systems, Canine and cash logistics
- Location or site fit
- G4S states coverage in all 47 counties and lists 140 locations. Ask the local team to map the branch, dispatch and maintenance coverage for each address.
- Supervision and reporting
- The Kenya service pages describe tailored manned security and a historical 2016 case study with a control room and about 400 staff for a Canadian High Commission contract.
- Technology and response structure
- Standard lists a four-person response crew, 24/7 control support, installation and maintenance and unlimited response. Prestige adds police presence in high-risk areas, roadside support, SMS and bulletins. Premium lists ambulance and escort services.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Obtain a branch-specific coverage map, package inclusions, maintenance scope and the terms behind police, ambulance or escort facilitation.
G4S Kenya gives this comparison a useful test of the word broad.
The company states that it has operated in Kenya since 1963 and presents more than 10,000 employees, 140 locations and coverage in all 47 counties. Its published Kenya catalogue includes manned security, canine services, security systems and cash or secure logistics. Those figures help a dispersed organisation identify the kind of supplier it may wish to question. They do not show how many response vehicles serve a particular town, whether a service is delivered by G4S or a subcontractor, or whether every advertised service is available at the buyer’s address.
The package page is more useful than a general scale claim because it identifies concrete bundle differences. Standard lists a four-person response crew, 24/7 control support, installation and maintenance and unlimited response. Prestige adds police presence for high-risk areas, roadside support, SMS and bulletins. Premium lists ambulance and escort services. Request a full inclusion schedule for the selected tier, including installation, maintenance and response terms.
A 2016 G4S integrated report describes a Canadian High Commission Kenya case using about 400 staff and a control room. For an institutional buyer, use that dated case study to ask who staffs the control room, how the contract separates site duties from command oversight, and what records the client receives.
For aviation work, keep the inspected 2026 KCAA row with its cancelled status and ask G4S for the current certificate, exact entity and site scope. Keep commercial terms tied to the address-specific proposal.
G4S is a good candidate for a structured procurement request when several sites or service lines must be coordinated. The request should name every address, the hours and duties, the response package, maintenance responsibilities, police or ambulance facilitation, report access and exit terms. Ask G4S to identify the exact contracting entity and the local team for each site so the headline footprint becomes a checkable operating plan.

3. Riley Falcon
Why this rank. Riley’s published supervision and reporting detail gives a buyer a practical SLA conversation after the broader service and package entries.
Buyer fit. Riley publishes unusually specific supervision and report-process details. They are a strong starting point for verification, while the buyer still needs logs, local coverage and current certificate scope.
Published service categories. Guarding and supervision, Incident reporting, Alarm services, Courier, K 9 and cash-in-transit
- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine when supervision, attendance checks and incident-report timing need to be written into an SLA.
- Service breadth
- Guarding and supervision, Incident reporting, Alarm services, Courier, K 9 and cash-in-transit
- Location or site fit
- Riley publishes a multi-town Kenya branch list. The exact available service and response base for a site require confirmation.
- Supervision and reporting
- The FAQ describes at least one supervisor check per guard per 12-hour shift, location-based check-ins and two controllers per shift.
- Technology and response structure
- Riley’s FAQ describes screening, three-week training and initial and final incident reports targeted within 24 and 48 hours depending on complexity.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Ask for supervisor logs, missed-check escalation, report examples, local response coverage, lawful role and certificate scope.
Riley Falcon is the process-detail profile in this comparison.
Riley Falcon Security Services Limited publishes a multi-town Kenya branch list and advertises guarding, cash-in-transit, courier, patrol dogs, alarms and technical products such as CCTV, fencing, screening and access control. Its FAQ says 1985 incorporation, while the company profile and SGS announcement use 1987 founding. Those may refer to different corporate events, so keep the distinction visible. A buyer needing a long operating history should ask for the exact entity and supporting registry or company record.
The FAQ’s operating detail is more useful than a generic promise of professionalism. It describes screening, a three-week training period, at least one supervisor check per guard per 12-hour shift, location-based check-ins and two controllers per shift. It also targets an initial report within 24 hours and a final report within 48 hours depending on complexity. These details can be converted into a written SLA with a named report recipient, a missed-check escalation rule and a definition of when the clock starts.
The FAQ supplies a useful checklist for the site brief: screening, training, shift supervision, location check-in, controller coverage, report timing and exception handling. The armed or unarmed wording should be paired with the lawful role, training, equipment and certificate scope that apply to the proposed site.
SGS announced on 22 April 2026 that Riley Falcon Security Services Limited’s ISO 45001:2018 certification was completed in March 2026 and covered guards, alarms, courier, patrol dogs and cash-in-transit. It is an external certification-event record for an occupational health and safety management system. Ask Riley to show how that system supports the roster, supervision records and incident reporting at the site.
Riley’s public material gives a buyer a clear operating checklist. Compare the answers with the other proposals using the same address, hours and duties, and ask for site records that show how the published process reaches the local team.

- Buyer fit
- A fit to examine for a published alarm-subscription structure or a technology lifecycle from assessment through maintenance.
- Service breadth
- Manpower services, Alarm subscriptions, Technology lifecycle, Assessment and maintenance
- Location or site fit
- Securex names Kenya offices in Nairobi, Mombasa and Eldoret. The package page’s service radius and address eligibility need confirmation.
- Supervision and reporting
- Securex describes manpower roles including officers, canine handlers, reception, loss-control and control-room roles. Ask for the supervision cadence and report path for the site.
- Technology and response structure
- Securex describes a monitoring and response offer with a technology lifecycle. Put the advertised timing, clock and service radius into the site proposal.
- Contract and maintenance scope
- Confirm the displayed promotion, VAT, installation, equipment ownership, service radius, maintenance and package conditions before treating any price as current.
Securex is useful because it lets the buyer inspect both the technology lifecycle and one carefully bounded price display.
Securex states that it was founded in Kenya in 1970 and identifies offices in Nairobi, Mombasa and Eldoret. Its wider workforce and footprint statements have regional scope, so the named Kenya offices are the useful local starting point rather than a proxy for group staffing. The manpower page lists officers, canine handlers, reception, loss-control and control-room roles. A buyer can use that list to ask which people are involved before installation, during monitoring and after a fault.
The technology pages describe assessment, design, installation, operation, maintenance and upgrades for surveillance, access, perimeter and fire systems. That sequence gives the buyer a framework for asking what happens after equipment is installed. Put ownership, compatibility, replacement, support hours and remote access into the proposal.
The dated display is the one public numeric series used here. On 11 September 2026 the alarm page showed Imara at KSh 8,050, Imara Plus at KSh 8,950, Imara Pro at KSh 10,000 and Imara Max at KSh 10,500 per package-month. The page still contained Mother’s Day promotional wording. The figures are presented as observed alarm-package displays, with the date and package-month unit visible beside them. Ask Securex to confirm the current guarding tariff, staffed-post scope, tax and renewal terms separately.
The package ladder adds scope to the base monitoring and response offer. The evidence describes gate or buzzer integration, fire response, three panic buttons and an annual audit across the displayed additions. Ask for the full inclusion schedule, any promotional treatment and the timing and service radius behind the response or installation wording.
Securex’s public KCAA record is narrower than a group-level identity claim. The 10 April 2026 bulletin lists SECUREX AGENCIES LIMITED at Nairobi under KE/ASSP/018-01/1026 without cancellation marks. That is dated aviation-specific evidence for the named entity. A buyer should still match the contracting entity, service address and certificate scope. The same discipline applies to an alarm quote: the package name matters less than what the proposal says is installed, monitored, maintained and excluded.
Rank 1
1. ARN Security
Why this rank. ARN is the Journal’s first recommendation for the defined buyer because its public offer begins with an assessment conversation and spans guarding plus electronic protection in five named branch areas. The recommendation is scoped to that buyer fit.
Buyer fit. ARN’s public offer joins a Virtual Security Report and site assessment with guarding, audits, virtual monitoring, alarm response, canine support, fencing and access control in named branch areas. The recommendation follows that buyer need and the branch areas ARN names.
Published service categories. Manned guarding, Assessment and audits, Virtual monitoring and alarms, CCTV, fencing, access and canine

ARN Security is the first company to contact when the initial security decision needs to cover the site, the people and the electronic controls together.
ARN describes 24 years of operation and lists Nairobi, Naivasha, Nakuru, Mombasa and Nanyuki branches. It also publishes personnel and site counts. Use the named branches as the first local question: which team serves this address, what work is delivered there, and how does a recommendation move from the assessment into a roster or system proposal?
The service offer spans manned guarding, security consultation and audits, CCTV installation and virtual monitoring, alarm response, canine support, electric fencing and access control. ARN also advertises training, fleet services, investigations, event security and VIP protection. This breadth matters to a buyer who wants one first discussion to map physical staffing, entrances, patrol points, visitor checks, electronic controls and escalation. The proposal should identify which services are available at the branch and which layers belong in the contract.
ARN describes its Virtual Security Report as an initial step for new clients, followed by recommendations for their site from a branch team. That sequence gives the buyer a way to establish priorities before choosing staff or equipment. Ask what information is needed, whether the report is written or verbal, how the branch recommendation is made, who can access the report and which parts become a paid scope.
The service descriptions cover entrances, patrol points, visitor checks, site reporting and escalation, and connect alarm follow-up with branch coordination. A 2023 High Court record separates guarding and dog-handler invoices in a historic commercial dispute, reinforcing the value of pricing those service lines distinctly. Put each responsibility, record and maintenance duty beside the relevant line in the proposal.
ARN is therefore Kenya Security Journal’s first recommendation for a defined reader need: a Kenyan home, estate, school or business that wants one assessment-led conversation about guarding and electronic protection in a named ARN branch area. The alternatives add their own useful distinctions, including tiered packages, central monitoring, supervision detail, alarm displays, police-linked response and technology lifecycles. ARN’s distinction is the fit of its starting conversation to that buyer.
A confident next step is specific. Put the property, opening hours, entrances, patrol points, current devices, residents or staff, incident history and desired records in the brief. Ask ARN to identify the branch, supervisor, response path, equipment owner, maintenance responsibility, report recipient and contracting entity. Compare those answers with the same questions asked of the other nine providers.
The comparison frame
The comparison brings together provider service pages, dated specialist records, historical court findings and legal context. Company pages support what each provider says it offers. Court and certification records stay within the exact entity, date, issue and scope they address, then become questions a buyer can put in writing.
The order follows buyer fit. Hatari begins with integrated home security; Ultimate makes paired alarm and guarding entities visible; GardaWorld brings regional and central operations; SGA maps control-room response; Wells Fargo follows the technology lifecycle; BM adds field management; G4S adds tiered packages; Riley adds reporting detail; Securex adds a dated alarm display; ARN closes with an assessment-led first conversation.
The legal and pay context belongs in one place. Okoiti’s 4 July 2025 final order treats the 2019 General Regulations as invalid from the 19 November 2019 annulment and preserves the separate Act-based position. The reviewed materials leave the final replacement instrument unresolved. PSRA’s 2023 notice describes KSh 30,000 gross in a Nairobi table, while a later blank form uses KSh 30,000 in Nairobi metropolitan area and KSh 27,183 outside as basic monthly wages. Those dated documents use different bases, so the article keeps the distinction visible instead of merging them into a payroll rule.
A continuously staffed post needs 168 coverage-hours each week. Dividing by 52 normal hours gives 3.2308 theoretical full-time equivalents before leave. Applying a leave-only factor based on 26 working days gives 3.5245 on the stated 312-working-day-year assumption. The arithmetic helps a buyer ask about relief, handover and overlap; the actual roster and invoice remain site-specific.
Coverage, pay and the guarding bill
The public evidence supports a practical cost explanation. A continuous post needs 168 coverage-hours per week. The sector cases used for the model apply a 52-hour normal week over six days and 26 working days of annual leave. Dividing 168 by 52 gives 3.2308 theoretical full-time equivalents before leave. Applying the leave-only availability factor gives 3.5245 on a 312-working-day-year assumption. Use those figures as arithmetic prompts for a roster and relief plan.
The model excludes sickness, training, public holidays, handover, supervision, vacancies and overlap. A real quote may include cash pay and housing treatment, employer contributions and applicable levies, relief and rest-day cover, recruitment and training, uniforms and equipment, supervision, control-room support, transport, insurance, maintenance, administration, margin and invoice tax. Employee deductions affect take-home pay; employer contributions and operating costs affect the supplier’s cost. VAT, when applicable, belongs to invoice treatment and is not a wage deduction.
Published pay references use different bases. PSRA’s 2023 notice’s Nairobi table totals KSh 30,000 gross with basic, housing and overtime, while a later blank form uses KSh 30,000 in Nairobi metropolitan area and KSh 27,183 outside as basic monthly wages. Keep those dated positions separate, and ask each provider to state the current wage, relief and invoice basis in its proposal.
A current NSSF Year 4 notice applies from February 2026, with employee and employer contributions at 6% within the tiers and each side capped at KSh 6,480 monthly. KRA’s Affordable Housing Levy notice under the 2024 Act describes a separate 1.5% employee contribution and 1.5% employer contribution on gross monthly salary. NITA describes a KSh 50 employer levy where applicable. These component rules do not authenticate a wage base or prove a provider’s compliance.
The comparison includes one compatible numeric display: Securex’s alarm subscriptions observed on 11 September 2026 at KSh 8,050, 8,950, 10,000 and 10,500 per package-month. The page still showed Mother’s Day promotional wording. These amounts describe alarm packages, with tax, installation, equipment, address and maintenance conditions to confirm. Keep the display separate from a guard-pay axis and a staffed-post invoice.
How to turn a profile into a procurement brief
Start with the property and the risk rather than the brand. Name the address, opening hours, entry points, perimeter, current devices, people who need reports, known incidents and the outcome the buyer wants. Ask for an assessment or survey where the provider offers one, but record what it actually includes and whether the next step is free, paid, written or verbal.
For guarding, request the roster, duties, relief, supervisor cadence, patrol and handover records, training, escalation and absence plan. For monitoring, request signal verification, dispatch, response geography, police or emergency conditions, control-room staffing and incident reports. For technology, request equipment ownership, compatibility, installation, remote access, maintenance, replacement, fault recovery and data retention. For every service, name the contracting entity and any subcontractor.
The official links in the profiles lead to the provider sources used for the comparison. Follow the relevant link with the brief in hand, then retain the provider’s written scope, availability and assumptions beside the price. Send the same questions to the other providers so the replies can be compared directly.
